Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) and Vasari Corridor
Ponte Vecchio is Florence’s oldest and most iconic bridge, famous for its charming jewelry shops built along its sides. Above the shops runs the Vasari Corridor, an elevated passageway built in 1565 to connect Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti, allowing the Medici to move safely and privately across the city. Together, they form one of Florence’s most picturesque and historically rich sights.
