About this experience
This tour will have a slight tweak compared to The Malacca Day Tour
where tourists will enjoy the dusk till dawn experience at the historical city!
You will experience an important place which is supposed to be the historical
capital of Malaysia at night.
The city and the state of Malacca is considered the opposite of Kuala
Lumpur. Though not the capital of Malaysia, it is touted as the “Historical
State” of Malaysia at night, Malacca is the site of the earliest Malaysian
sultanates. Malacca is also one of the oldest trading cities in the world which
is located strategically at the straits of Malacca, which attracted the attention
of the big powers such as The Portuguese, The Dutch and The British. The
presence of these coloniser left a huge impact on the infrastructure, culture
and lifestyle of this marvelous city. It was listed by UNESCO as the “World
Heritage Site” back in 2008 which has contributed to the tremendous
popularity of Malacca.
Then you will head to the Dutch Square where the majestic salmon
pink town hall is located. The hall used to serve as the Dutch governor’s
residence. Today, Stadhuys hosts a museum showcasing a wide variety of
Malaccan artifacts. You will get a ride on the local 'beca' (decorated trickshaw
with music) where a local rider will share some insides of the city and ride you
through the unique photo stops.
You will get the chance to admire the surviving gate of the Portuguese
fortress, A Famosa, one of the oldest European structures built in Southeast
Asia dating back to the year 1511.
Our guided walk through the historic centre of Malacca allows visitors
to learn first-hand about the Portuguese and Dutch influences of Malacca’s
historical structures, like the Porta de Santiago and the Stadhuys. After the
visit, they will proceed to enjoy a delicious lunch made with fresh ingredients,
cooked in truly a Malaccan style.
Visit in-demand tourist attractions such as the Cheng Hoon Teng Taoist
temple, the oldest functioning temple in Malaysia and the quirky Jonker
Street, known mostly for its antiques the town is bustling with unique shops
that sell local souvenirs and delicacies. This extremely popular and highly
affordable tour will prove to be a fantastic educational opportunity as well, with
our expert local guides providing essential details about all the scenic places
you visit. At the end of the tour, you will get to go and a boat which will cruise
through the river of Malacca while watching the colourfully lightened-up city!
