About this experience
The old inner city of Amsterdam is incredibly picturesque! Here you can see the narrowest houses, crooked alleyways, hidden yards and gardens for butterflies!
During this tour, we would like to tell you about Dutch history, traditions, national character and, most importantly, figure out how this place was built below sea level, became one of the freest and most progressive countries in the world!
We will meet you at the Amsterdam Centraal, where we will share some wonderful facts about its history, and talk about relationships between Catholics and protestants after the 80 Years' War. Slowly strolling along cozy canals and enjoying the view of old brick buildings and majestic churches, we will find out more about this multifaceted city. We will talk about old and modern lifestyle of Amsterdammers.

In 't Aepjen - would you like to find out more about Dutch favorite drinks and drinking traditions? Let’s visit this authentic bar located in the oldest wooden house of Amsterdam! Here we would like to tell about national mentality, favorite games and big celebrations, illustrating our story with paintings by Jan Steen, Frans Hals and other magnificent artists;

Nieuwmarkt and De Waag - this square has a lot of mysterious secrets and myths! Let’s discover why it was extremely popular among families to spend their leisure time around the former anatomical theatre! Illustrating our story with paintings of Rembrandt, we will discover more about witches, prisoners and punishments of the Golden Age;

Rembrandt house - we would like to pay a special attention to this place and tell you more about Rembrandt, his life, talent and fate and find out what was important for every successful artist in the Golden Age;

Jewish Neighborhood - lovely quiet district, where you can see such sightseeing as Jewish Historical Museum, Portuguese synagogue and famous flea market. There we would like to tell more about Jewish diaspora in the Netherlands, their traditions, lifestyle and rights.
