برنامج الرحلة

  1. 1

    Grand-Place

The heart of the city and World Heritage by UNESCO. The impresive City Hall comes back to the 15th century, surrounded by the most important guild houses built in rich different architecture styles. We cannot forget also the Maison du Roi, a nice museum where you can find the original Manneken-Pis (17th century).

  2. 2

    Tintin's Mural Painting

Brussels is the city of comics where you can find a huge amount of mural paintings dedicated to these paper heros. Probably the most famous is the reporter Tintin, born in 1929 to experience hundreds of adventures with his dog Snowy.

  3. 3

Manneken Pis, the most famous child!

You cannot really describe the Manneken Pis: you have to see it. He is the vigilante of Brussels since the end of the Middle Ages. Literally, is the "Little Pissing Man", a bronze fountain sculpture. So many stories, so many legends, the current statue is a replica and you can find the original in the Maison du Roi (Grand-Place). He is the best-known symbol of the people of Brussels, embodies their sense of humour and their independence of mind. He has more than 1.000 costumes so, who knows? Maybe you see him with a beautiful one during your visit!

  4. 4

    Stock Exchange

Over the remains of a 13th century Franciscan convent, in the 19th century was built the Brussels Stock Exchange building. Its style is really eclectic, mixing some neo-Renaissance and Second Empire elements. You can enjoy a profusion of ornaments and sculptures by renowned artists, including Auguste Rodin. Nowadays this space is used for different temporary exhibitions, but there is a long-term project that will turn the building into a museum dedicated to the Belgian beer.

  5. 5

    Royal Gallery Saint-Hubert

One of the most prestigious places in Brussels during the 19th century and one of the oldest galleries in Europe. Historical cinema and theater, the galleries are full of need-to-know shops dedicated to chocolate, books, beauty products, decorative accessories, gift ideas, delicious pastries, luxury watches, high-end jewellery. It is also a heaven for gourmets, with its typical restaurants, brasseries, trendy bars and champagne bar. Summer and winter alike, the terraces welcome you.

  6. 6

Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint Gudule

In the 11th century this same place has a Romanesque church with the relics of Saint Gudule. Before that, as early as the 9th century a chapel dedicate to Saint Michael was probably built here. The Gothic Brabançon cathedral that you can see now began in 1226 and its stained glass windows, confessionals, pulpit and carillon are real masterpieces of art. It is also interesting take a look in the Romanesque crypt under the choir.

  7. 7

    The Park of Brussels

This place was always the whole district of the Royal Court, and in the 1770s the surroundings were transformed. The park was built and in 1830 this site was the witness of fierce battles for the people of Brussels who fought their revolution to get the independence from the Netherlands. At the moment was really emblematic because of its broad pathways, symmetrical alignments and surprising perspectives. The park stands just between the Federal Parliament and the Royal Palace.

  8. 8

    The Royal Palace

The Royal Palace of Brussels (1829) is the King's administrative residence and main workplace. This is also the place to receive the representatives of political institutions, foreign guests (heads of state, ambassadors...) and other guests. The tradition opens the Royal Palace every summer after the National Holiday of 21st July until September, with a public and free entrance.

  9. 9

    The Royal Square

All this high part of the city had until the 18th century the original Ducal Palace of Brussels, but a devastating fire destroyed it completely. Now, the neoclassical style buildings that surround the statue of Godfrey of Bouillon offer a great choice of cultural sites like the Royal Fine Arts Museum or the Musical Instruments Museum. From here you can take an astonishing picture with the Grand-Place in the distance.

  10. 10

    Mount of the Arts

The so called "Mont des Arts" offers one of the Brussels' finest views. On a sunny day, the Koekelberg Basilica and even the Atomium can be seen. On the other side, the dome of the church of Saint James on Coudenberg closes the perspective. Although the garden was conceived as temporary, it became a well-appreciated green area in the heart of the capital in the 19th century, so authorities decided to renew this urban project as we can see today. Here it is also very important for the city the Royal Library of Belgium and the Brussels Meeting Centre.
