Accademia Gallery

Michelangelo's David
Michelangelo's David is one of the most iconic sculptures of the Renaissance and a symbol of Florence. Created between 1501 and 1504 from Carrara marble, it depicts the young biblical hero David before his battle against Goliath. The statue, standing 5.17 meters tall, is renowned for its anatomical perfection, sense of tension, and determined expression. Today, it is displayed at the Galleria dell'Accademia.
