Visit Robben Island with return ferry travel from Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront and admission to the museum's standard programme. Join the museum-operated island bus tour and guided visit to the former Maximum Security Prison, including a viewing of Nelson Mandela's former cell.

Robben Island Museum operates the ferry and island programme and assigns its guides. These services are shared with other visitors. A former political prisoner is not guaranteed as your guide. Giraffe Horizons handles your booking and museum-ticket arrangements. Hotel transfers are not included in this option.

Allow approximately 3.5–4 hours including return ferry travel, depending on the vessel and operations. Your booking confirmation is separate from the museum boarding ticket. Provide the required passenger details and check your issued ticket's date and departure time. Ferry services may be changed or cancelled because of weather, sea, safety or operational conditions.

    Get a guided tour of the prison while learning about South Africa's history, the struggle against oppression, and the thousands of freedom fighters who were imprisoned on Robben Island, including former president Nelson Mandela. Return by ferry to the V&A Waterfront and enjoy some free time to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants (cost not included). End your day with a visit to the Two Oceans Aquarium. Explore the wonders of the ocean up close as you visit the penguin exhibit, shark exhibit, ocean exhibit, and much more. Learn about the history of South Africa, the fight against oppression, and the thousands of freedom fighters—among them former president Nelson Mandela—who were detained on Robben Island by taking a guided tour of the prison. Take the ferry back to the V&A Waterfront and use your free time to shop or eat at one of the many restaurants (own expense).

    Take a trip to the Two Oceans Aquarium to cap off your day. Visit the shark exhibit, the ocean exhibit, the penguin exhibit, and much more to get up close and personal with the wonders of the ocean.

    Go view Table Mountain, the city's most famous landmark. In order to reach the summit of the mountain, buy your tickets and board a cable car. Take some time to enjoy the amazing views of Signal Hill, Lion's Head, and the City of Cape Town. After that, walk with your guide to another lookout point where you'll be rewarded with expansive views of the Twelve Apostles Mountains, Camps Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean.
